The "Valley Isle"
Maui is Hawaii's second largest island, but its small population makes the area feel homey. Known as the "Valley Isle," Maui is a tropical vacation paradise for those who want to relax away from the hustle and bustle of Hawaii's more populated spots. However, just because Maui is quiet doesn't mean it lacks fun activities. Every town on the island has something for guests to discover. From the resort beaches of Honokowai to the bay at Napili, Maui allows visitors to be as active or relaxed as they want.
Dining
Dining in Maui will not disappoint. Hawaiian cuisine is comprised of a combination of delicate influences drawn from our European, Japanese, and Polynesian and Eastern immigrants’ cuisine. Locally caught fish is the main attraction in Lahaina’s many front street restaurants. Don’t forget to make reservations for a sun set luau where you can eat, drink and watch the traditional dance of Polynesia, set against a spectacular Pacific Ocean backdrop.
Shopping
The two upscale resort shopping malls, the Shops at Wailea in South Maui and Whalers Village in Kaanapali, have everything from Louis Vuitton and Coach to Gap—plus a handful of local designers to boot. If you’re looking for that perfect souvenir, consider visiting one of Maui’s farms (or farmers’ markets), most of which offer fantastic value-added products. Take home Kaanapali coffee, Kula lavender spice rub, Maui Ocean vodka, Maui Gold pineapple, and other tasty treats that can be shipped worldwide.
Activities
Plenty of things to do like sunset cruises, helicopter tours, luau, parasailing and sightseeing tours. Explore Haleakala Crater, Road to Hana, Molokini Snorkeling, Kaanapali Beach, Lahaina Town, Iao Valley, Lanai Island, Molokai Island and much more.
